Trial Presentation & Courtroom Technology for Southern California Trials

Persuasion happens on the screen, not just in the transcript. Jurors remember a fraction of what they hear and the vast majority of what they see — and trial presentation is the difference between evidence that is merely admitted and evidence that actually lands. Trials & Tech runs courtroom presentation — with a dedicated hot seat operator at the keyboard — for attorneys in Orange County and throughout Southern California, plaintiff or defense, in state and federal court.

What we do

Fumbling with the technology in front of a jury costs you credibility and momentum. A dedicated trial technician removes that risk entirely. Trials & Tech runs the “hot seat” — managing your evidence display in real time so your trial team can focus on the case.

  • Build and organize your exhibit database before trial
  • Display documents, photos, and exhibits on cue, with live callouts, zooms, and highlights
  • Play synchronized deposition clips at the right moment
  • Manage the courtroom display setup so everything is reliable and seamless

Because the work is led by people who understand trial from the inside, we anticipate what you'll need before you ask for it. Plaintiff or defense, state or federal court, anywhere in Southern California.

What a hot seat operator does

“Hot seat” is trial shorthand for the chair beside counsel table where the evidence display is actually run. The hot seat operator sits there for the whole trial with your exhibit database open, and pulls whatever you call for the moment you call for it.

  • Anything, instantly. Any exhibit, any page, any deposition clip — on the screen before the question lands, with the callout already framed.
  • No rhythm break. An examination that stalls while someone hunts for a document loses the jury. A good hot seat operator is invisible; you should never have to wait or repeat yourself.
  • Off-script when the case turns. Cross rarely goes the way the outline says. We follow you off the outline and find the impeachment page cold.
  • The same person start to finish. The operator in the courtroom is the one who built the database, so there is no handoff and nothing to explain twice.

Some firms call it the hot seat, some the trial technician, some the trial tech. It is the same role, and it is what we do every day — in Orange County and throughout Southern California, plaintiff or defense.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions

Do you provide trial presentation and a trial technician in Orange County?

Yes. We provide courtroom trial presentation and a dedicated trial technician — the "hot seat" operator — throughout Orange County and across Southern California, in state and federal court, for plaintiff and defense.

What is a hot seat operator?

The hot seat operator is the person running the evidence display at counsel table during trial — pulling up any exhibit, page, callout, or deposition clip the instant it is called for, without breaking the examining attorney's rhythm. The name comes from the seat itself: it is the one chair in the courtroom where a two-second fumble is visible to the entire jury. On our engagements the hot seat operator is the same person who built your exhibit database, so nothing has to be explained twice.

Do you provide courtroom equipment?

Yes. We deliver and operate courtroom equipment — high-definition monitors, displays, media players, and cabling — and a technician sets it up and runs it on site. Where the courtroom already has evidence presentation equipment installed, we work with what is there.

Which courts do you cover?

All Orange County Superior Court justice centers, the Ronald Reagan Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in Santa Ana, and courts throughout Los Angeles, San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties — plus arbitrations and private hearings across Southern California.

Do you support remote and hybrid proceedings?

Yes. We host and manage remote and hybrid hearings and trials with clean exhibit sharing over video and a protected record.
