As a resident of California, I am deeply concerned about the rising number of TBI cases in our state. This is not only a personal issue, but also a societal one, as TBI not only affects the individual and their family, but also has a significant impact on our healthcare system and economy.

One of the main causes of TBI in California is falls. This is particularly concerning as falls are preventable. The state must invest in fall prevention programs, such as education and awareness campaigns, as well as infrastructure improvements, such as making sidewalks and public areas safer.

Another major cause of TBI in California is car accidents. We must take steps to reduce the number of motor vehicle crashes, such as implementing stricter safety regulations, enforcing traffic laws, and encouraging the use of safer vehicles.

Sports injuries are also a significant contributor to TBI in California. While sports are an important part of our culture, we must prioritize the safety of our youth by ensuring that coaches, trainers, and referees are properly trained to recognize and respond to TBI.

TBI is a complex issue and requires a multifaceted approach to address. The state must take action to prevent TBI and improve the lives of those affected by it. We must invest in fall prevention, road safety, and sports safety programs to reduce the number of TBI cases in our state. As a community, we must also support those affected by TBI and their families.
